Mueller Corporation has multiple custom-built 72 and 66 inch vacuum coating chambers that are capable of plating many different substrates, including but not limited to glass, metals and plastics, with a controlled thickness of aluminum from 300 to 30,000+ angstroms in depth. These uniform deposits of aluminum at 30,000+ angstroms (3+ microns) provide a high level of effective shield for EMI/RFI microwave radiation produced by devices such as cellular telephones and other microwave devices. This type of metal plating also provides an excellent shield against electro-static discharge (ESD) in many different types of electronic enclosures from individual device covers to entire terminal housings.

Our conventional vacuum coaters, which are used for processing lighting reflectors and heat-shielded plastics, as well as for finishing decorative items, include all three sizes of chamber: 48, 66 and 72 inch diameters. This flexibilty in size provides our customers with the most cost-effective plating solution for each individual job.

Through proprietary methods of coating technology we are able to increase the reflectivity of many parts and also provide a lasting finish where extreme temperatures can be an issue. We are also able to apply our coatings onto flexible substrates. Thus, we can deposit a metal surface to act as a light reflector, a heat shield, a conductor, or simply as a decorative enhancement. Our process technology has overcome many coating obstacles in order to process special parts for our customers that many other finishers still find difficult, expensive or impossible to metalize effectively.

All of our coating chambers and paint lines are operated under an environmental management system based on ISO 14001. We insure that our work is performed in a manner so as not to endanger any part of the natural environment, and we are diligent about assuring full compliance with all local, state & federal protocols.
