The Company was founded in 1955 by Walter W. Mueller, a man known as one of the pioneers in the vacuum metalizing industry. Mr. Mueller gained his practical experience with an engineering company that designed vacuum equipment for various applications which included providing optical coatings for the military as well as providing systems design for Custom Vacuum Metalizing. He traveled worldwide with this company supervising the installation of equipment and systems until selling his share in that business and then founding the Mueller Corporation.

Walter's son Glen continued leadership of the business in 1984, and he is now the current Chief Executive Officer. Involvement in the business moves forward to the third generation with Glen's son Glenn W., who is now the Vice President. Walter Mueller's wife Priscilla, who has been an integral part of the business from the start, still works in the business with her son, and grandson.

Mueller Corporation has a history of long term employees. Mark Svizzero president 25 years, Kathy Anderson office manager 35 years and Harry Flynn R&D manager 45 years have a combined tenure of over a century. Along with the rest of the management staff who each has at least 10 years experience Mueller Corporation has built a foundation of knowledge and experience.
